  6. Micha,
    You’re welcome :)

  7. I just started using this widget a few days ago on a BlogSpot blog, and I am totally impressed with it. Did a little googling for other types of rating widgets and none of them come close to what this little beauty can.

The coolest feature is that you can design your own rating widget. Add elements to it like tagging your post, related posts similar to the one you are rating, who has rated the post so far, etc.

Plus the widget is CSS editable — add background images, borders, text colors, etc. All of this is handled on their site and you don’t have to alter any of your template or CSS coding, the effects appear immediately on your blog.

They have a gallery of user submitted widgets that you can use. Some are very simple. Others are works of art. It is easy to copy them to your account and “blend” the colors for your blog too.

  8. Completely agreed with you, WebStractions, just the best rating widget!

  10. Thanks, Micha.
Good luck to you and your entire team!
Hoping to see the widget evolve. Let it rock! :)

  11. @Micha — I noticed that you were rating a few posts over at my blog. I think that is pretty cool that you are helping new users out by getting those numbers up past “one”. I know that I rated a couple on my own :)

    Thanx for the boost!

It would be nice to know what blogs the raters post for, if any, so that we could return the favor. I think this would help in getting several more ratings on the board for everyone. May even get viral. Any chance of implementing that?

@Shankar — I just now noticed that you are not using this service. Do you have plans to use it?

If you do. I created a rating widget just for Blogger users. It has the big orange B’s instead of stars.

Good suggestion. Hope Micha is listening :)

You have created a good widget, btw, WebStractions. It’ll be going well with Blogspot blogs.

I may integrate the widget here, probably soon.

    Thanks to your suggestions :)

  13. @WebStractions – the reason I rated some of the posts is that I came across them while reading our front page at http://spotback.com. This page is a very powerful and useful discovery tool and I often find great content there. In other words, it wasn’t just giving a boost to your rating, I simply thought your content was worth rating :)

As for your suggestion about knowing what blogs your raters post for – that’s a good point. We actually already have this data in our system and only need to find the proper way to expose it. I will be happy to discuss this with you to get your thoughts on how you vision this in practice. You can contact me directly at micha (at) spotback (dot) com

Great suggestion guys – keep’em coming!

    micha.

  14. Thanx Micha. I will drop you a line then.

  15. I like your blog, this post is really good, but please vary your topics, it will broad your readership.
