How to resize pictures online?

Quite a number of software programs let you resize your pictures easily. But you may not need such programs always since you don’t resize pictures often. In case you don’t want to / can’t install a software to do the job, there are quite a number of tools available on the internet that may come in handy. Here are some of them:

  • MyPictr - This is one of the coolest web 2.0 sites that lets you resize pictures online. Upload the picture, either specify the size or use the crop feature to crop parts of the image, and then download it right away. MyPictr also lets you get your images resized in a suitable size that can be used in social sites like MySpace, etc.
  • Resize2Mail - Upload pictures, and get them resized instantly. You can also rotate / flip images easily by specifying just the angle. If you want to crop your pictures, you can get them cropped at resize2mail.com/crop.php. You can also email the image to others quickly. Another similar site is ShrinkPictures
  • PicResize - PicResize has a simple and clear web page that lets you upload multiple pictures at once, and get them resized in a go. This picture resizing tool also allows you to add special effects like oil painting, grayscale, blur, etc. on the fly. Plus, you can save the resized files in JPG, GIF and PNG formats
  • Resizr - Resizr, in addition to picture resizing, lets you crop images online. It has an intuitive interface that lets you use your drag your mouse inside the image and crop it. You can save the image in multiple formats.

  1. I prefer to use IrfanView. Its much faster as opening these websites and uploading the image itself would take couple of mintues.

  2. Pallab: Yes, but sometimes when you’re not on your computer, and just can’t install anything, these may come in handy.

  5. I still use software on my computer to resize images. Because I can also optimize images for the web using the same software.

  6. I used to use Picture2Life but since I came across Faststone capture i don’t use it quite often and I have a portable version of it so can carry it on my usb drive too :-).

  11. well offline tools are much better when it comes even in a simple paint program.

  12. It would prefer to use Picnik I can do most of the image editing work online with Picnik.
