Vote for the Taj, please

There’s a campaign going on to list the new 7 wonders of the world, you might have known – at new7wonders.com

21 finalists have now been short listed and the new seven wonders will be announced on 07/07/07 – that’s July 07 this year, less than a month from now.

These new wonders are selected based on the number of votes they managed to receive from people all over the world. You can vote for any monument/site that you consider worth a wonder.

If you’re an Indian, you must consider voting for the Taj Mahal, India’s pride. I’m not imposing my views on you, but I strongly suggest you to cast your vote for the Taj. People say it’s going down in the list, so please consider voting for it.

You can vote online or via the phone. Vote now here.

I think one should not vote until they have seen all the monuments in contention. Then only they should vote in an objective manner. National pride should not cloud our objective assessment. Anyway, I don’t think popular vote is the right way to decide this issue. Imagine theory of evolution vs creationism being decided by popular vote !!!!!! Anyway, for me, tajmahal is not even the best piece of architecture in India. In my opinion that title goes to Kailash Temple of Illora
