Now, fast forward videos in YouTube player

YouTube has now added a new feature to their video player that lets you watch videos in fast forwarding mode.

That means, you don’t need to wait for the entire video to buffer, just click on some point on the slider in the bottom of video player, and watch it from that point onwards.

Here’s a sample screenshot of the fast forward mode in action:

Such a feature was available on Google Video, yet it’s a new entrant to the YouTube player.

I’d say it’s a big time saver, and a bandwidth saver if you know which part of the video is the thing you really want to see. What do you think?

  12. well, Youtube’s new rival (Woozyfly) is able to fast forward through its videos even in its beta stage. It’s about time Youtube.

  13. I find this to slow down viewing if you switch back after viewing a part ahead.

  14. I cannot fast foward in google video. Everytime the video freezes during the middle, I am forced to watch from the beginning again. I wish there was a way to foward or continue where I left off in the middle.
