Automatic restarting problem with Nokia 3110c mobile phone
My Dad bought a Nokia 3110c mobile recently (a good phone, I should say) but it started giving some trouble in a few days. The Nokia 3110 classic mobile phone automatically switches off and restarts randomly.

I tried Googling, found no exact solution to this problem but still I’m compiling all the information that I was able to gather from support forums and other real life sources regarding the Nokia 3110c restarting problem:
The Return of the Links

It’s been a long while, just decided to shoot out some useful links from the blogosphere to you all.
Firefox 3 Beta 1 – First Impressions
A beta version Firefox 3 is out in the wild. Installed it, tried it today. A lot of improvements have been made, according to the announcement at Mozilla, so took it for a test ride.

Firefox 3 Beta 1 does not support most add-ons that you may be using, so install it only if you want to experience the new features and get ready to thrive without the addons.
Now, here’s the review. For your note, I won’t be going much into the technical details, just a neat review of what I saw as a user.
The 5 best, free tools to remove junk files
Over the course of time, your computer gets accumulated with unwanted and unremoved junk files that are no longer necessary. These junk files remain unused by the operating system, but occupy much disk space. Removing these junk files is a piece of cake, provided you have any of these tools installed on your computer.

HyperIM – Instant Messenger Status Manager
If you’re the kind of a person who generally hangs out on various instant messengers, and has an ever growing buddy list (that kinda annoys you sometimes), this tool is for you.
HyperIM is a little tool that acts as a funky status manager for all your instant messengers. HyperIM works with Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and many other instant messaging clients.
Thoughts on Gmail’s New Version
Google recently rolled out a new version of Gmail, with some added features and enhancements. Ever since I saw screenshots of the new version, I’ve been waiting to try it out. Today, I was in for a surprise – my Gmail account was upgraded to the new version. May be Google realised it’s Diwali here in India, and gifted me!
Here’s all that I noticed:

AVG vs Avast!
Norton Antivirus was the first piece of antivirus software that I installed on my system (that’s because a Norton CD accompanied my computer when I purchased it). I was watching it running for a few days, and then I got annoyed. Installation was hectic and after restart, my PC only got slower.
Then, I heard about AVG Free Edition from somewhere and installed it. I’ve been using AVG for years, and I’ve never looked back. It’s one best antivirus solutions for slow computers with less resources. But, it’s good to try alternatives.
A few weeks ago, I read a post on Kyle’s blog talking about Avast Anti-Virus. Upon his recommendation, I decided to give it a try. At first, I thought it’d just be another resource hungry antivirus program. But it wasn’t. Even the real time scanning feature offered by Avast didn’t make my system slower.

Avast has some very interesting features and is highly configurable. Avast impressed me, and I think I’m going to stay with it.
Download Yahoo Messenger 9

Yahoo Messenger 9 has an improved contacts list, and offers easy-to-access options like the ability to instant message, text message, call your buddy – everything is just a click away. Other Address Book contacts are also displayed below the normal contacts list on Yahoo! Messenger 9.
Stop Yahoo! Messenger from starting up with Windows
Yahoo! Messenger is a popular Instant Messenger for Yahoo! users. Most of you download it, and use it only occasionally. Yahoo! Messenger, by default, starts up when Windows starts. If you don’t like Yahoo Messenger starting up with Windows, you’ll have to remove it from the start up list in msconfig. But, the fact is that it doesn’t work.

Even if you remove the Yahoo Messenger program from the msconfig start up list, it rewrites itself into the startup list again. There’s a way to get rid of this. Here’s how:
Pagerank 5
Google caused lots of confusion among bloggers this time, with the PR update penalizing blogs that were selling links on their sites. Thankfully, this blog got PageRank 5 this update.

Quality posts, participation in group writing projects, support from fellow bloggers helped in achieving this PR
Some of my friends’ blogs had a PR drop, I’m sorry for them. Traffic wise, I noticed a slight increase in traffic a few days before the PR bar turned green here.
